Capsule (Interred) | 2016

In 1997 Louise K Wilson spent one month at The Science Museum researching material from the 'Exploration of Space' gallery and the Museum's library. One of the works produced was 'Capsule', a sealed steel capsule containing a 700 page transcript of the entire Apollo 11 lunar mission commentary.

It was always intended for underground storage.

In 2016 'Capsule' finally found its resting place when it was buried in the foundations of the North Pennines Observatory, sited at Allenheads Contemporary Arts (which eventually opened in 2017).
